Elon Musk mentioned two meme coins yesterday, causing both to experience some volatility. First is Dogecoin, Tesla's super factory in Berlin had production suspended for nearly a week due to damage to nearby power facilities by extreme environmentalists. On March 13th, when Musk visited the Berlin super factory himself, he hinted that he might consider accepting Dogecoin as a payment method for purchasing Tesla cars.
Consider allowing Dogecoin for Tesla purchases
According to a video circulating on the internet, during the meeting with factory workers, someone asked, "When can we use Dogecoin to buy Tesla?" To this, Musk responded, "Well, you know, at some point in the future, I think we should do that. It would be cool to buy Tesla products with DOGE."
He also shared his reasons for supporting Dogecoin: "One day when I was walking around the Tesla factory, some workers on the production line asked me if I could support DOGE." He said, SpaceX employees had similar requests, so he believes, "Dogecoin is the people's cryptocurrency, so I decided to support it."
Boosted by this news, Dogecoin is now trading at $0.185124, up 7.14% in the last 24 hours. |
