Are you a live-for-the-moment type or a save-money-for-the-future type?

When it comes to planning for life, people generally fall into two categories. One is to live for the moment, hardly saving any money or saving very little. The other is to save money for a comfortable retirement in the future. These two concepts actually have inherent conflicts.

First, let's look at the "live for the moment" group. These are the people who enjoy living in the present and are unwilling to defer the pleasures of life to the future. They say, "Isn't living about enjoying? Why should I save money and not use it?" Indeed, living in the moment and enjoying life to the fullest is also a way of life. Just think, life is so short, if you look back when you're older and find that you haven't done anything, it would be quite meaningless.

Then there are the "save money for the future" planners. These folks take a longer-term view. They say, "Hey, I need to think about the future. What about when I get old? If I don't save money now, how will I enjoy life later?" They believe that saving more money now will lead to a better life in the future, without worrying about financial problems.

However, there's a huge contradiction between these two attitudes. Do you know what it is? It's that saving money is for enjoying life in the future, but when you get older, you might not have the health to truly enjoy it. Isn't that ironic? You dedicate your youth to work and saving money, only to find out when you're older that your health isn't good enough to do anything.

So, to be honest, this contradiction is quite difficult to resolve. I think you need to find a balance. You should enjoy the present but also plan for the future. Don't be too extreme, don't blindly pursue enjoyment in the present, and don't ignore your health by saving too much money. When it's time to have fun, have fun, and when it's time to save money, don't be too lenient. Most importantly, don't forget to take care of your health, after all, health is the most important wealth.

Well, after all is said and done, it's really about finding a balance in life. Enjoy the present, but also plan for the future. Don't let contradictions trip you up, just do what needs to be done, and don't end up getting things backwards in the end.

How unfortunate that I can't live for the moment, let alone save money for the future.

In life, it's impossible for everything to be a binary choice.
