Hi everyone! Manchester United clinched a last-minute victory against Liverpool at home! I was so thrilled watching the match yesterday that I couldn't contain my excitement, staying awake until past 3 a.m. after United's dramatic win. It's been a long time since I felt this excited over the past six months.
I've noticed the biggest change this season compared to the last is that I don't have the same expectations for Manchester United. To be honest, most of United's matches this season haven't been pleasing to watch. Typically, they start well for the first 30 minutes, maybe score a goal if we're lucky, but then spend the rest of the game being pressured by the opposition, barely scraping through for a win. Frankly, such performances hardly instill confidence in the fans. Every game feels like walking on thin ice because the gameplay doesn't support our belief that United can keep winning. The embarrassing single-digit goal differences this season highlight just how poorly United has been playing.
Only yesterday's match against Liverpool showcased that fighting spirit, making me believe that perhaps there is hope for United. When Liverpool overturned United's lead with two goals in the first half, I thought the game was lost, falling into the classic pattern of United's collapse. However, both the manager and the players didn't give up, leading to an exhilarating 4-3 comeback win.
Of course, one game doesn't define everything, as performances can sometimes be fleeting. But this match truly restored my confidence in United for the first time this season. I hope this can be a turning point for United this season. Even though securing a top-four finish in the league might be extremely challenging, it's not the priority this season. Even if we don't make it to the Champions League, winning the remaining matches can set a solid foundation for United next season. I've noticed that the confidence and form of these United players are closely tied. The higher the confidence, the better their performance. I'm not sure why a team with an average age not too young exhibits such behavior, but considering we haven't been at the peak for a decade, perhaps it's normal.
As a die-hard United fan, I'll never give up on supporting United. But I do hope United can consistently play matches like yesterday's, making us proud! |
