The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is seeking public opinions on a proposed rule change that would allow investors to trade options for Bitwise and Grayscale Bitcoin ETFs. The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) has requested a rule change to permit the listing and trading of options on Bitwise Bitcoin ETF (BITC), Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC), and "any trust holding Bitcoin," according to a notice dated March 23.
If approved, the options would trade "in the same manner as options on other ETFs (including commodity ETFs)" and would adhere to regulations covering listing standards, expiration dates, exercise prices, minimum price fluctuations, position and exercise limits, margin requirements, as well as customer accounts and trading halt procedures. |
