I read Ian Chappell’s column on ESPNCricinfo and he had some interesting views on India’s squad for the last three Tests against England. He praised India for dropping Shreyas Iyer, who has been struggling with his form and consistency in the Test format. He said that Shreyas Iyer got enough chances but he couldn’t convert his starts into big scores and faced a lot of criticism for his failures. He also said that India is a strong team and they have a good captain in Rohit Sharma. He added that India will be more formidable with the return of Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul from injury, but he also lamented the absence of Virat Kohli for the rest of the series. He hoped that the selectors would realize that Shreyas Iyer was not as good as they thought and that Kuldeep Yadav deserved more respect for his ability to take wickets.
