According to RP Singh, it is natural to have high hopes from a debutant like Rajat Patidar, who has joined the elite club of Indian players who have scored a ton and bagged the MOM award in their first match. However, he also pointed out that Patidar lacked the required resolve in the second Test and needs to work on his batting. With Kohli and Iyer out of the squad, Patidar has another chance to prove his worth in the middle order. He faces competition from Sarfaraz Khan, who is also a prolific run-scorer in domestic cricket and is waiting for his India debut. Patidar has an edge over Sarfaraz as he has already played an ODI for India.

Patidar and Sarfaraz both are very talented player so it will be my advice to give them some more time and chances so they can showcase their mettle in international cricket

I think  Rajat Patidar has not performed well in a second test match against England so Sarfaraz Khan will be the best choice if he gets selected for a third Test match against England at Rajkot, Gujarat
