February 4th News: Today, a well-known ESPN reporter reported on Lakers forward Jared Vanderbilt's right foot injury during a pre-game television program.
"I've been informed that Vanderbilt has suffered what's described to me as a serious right foot injury, and the team is concerned he may be out for the season. This weekend, they're consulting with medical experts to assess Vanderbilt's foot injury. But I'm told he'll be out for at least a few weeks, and it's very likely he'll miss the rest of the season. The Lakers have been without Gabe Vincent, and Vanderbilt has been injured for most of the season, perhaps their two best perimeter defenders. So, this will surely be something Rob Pelinka considers in the final days leading up to the trade deadline, and the possibility of Vanderbilt being out for the season will affect deadline operations," the reporter said.
Additionally, Brad Turner, Lakers beat reporter for the Los Angeles Times, also followed up with a report, citing sources that Vanderbilt is "highly likely" to miss the remainder of the season. |
