The series is still alive with three more matches to go, and former England skipper Alastair Cook is confident that this Indian team can be defeated again. He told BBC TMS that England came close to chasing down the target in the second Test, despite none of their batsmen scoring a century. He also praised the young Indian opener, who smashed a brilliant ton in the second innings to set England a daunting 399 to win. He said on TNT Sports that the lad from Punjab is a future star in the making, who can take over the mantle from Virat Kohli.

I think Indian batting was not up to mark in the first and second test matches against England, however, there were some brilliant performances from Jaiswal, Gill, and Rahul but as a batting unit we didn't perform well
