Pakistan won a close game against Bangladesh in Benoni and reached the semi-final of the U19 World Cup. Ubaid Shah was the hero, taking five wickets to defend a low total of 155.
Bangladesh bowled well on a new pitch and dismissed Pakistan for 155 in 40.4 overs. Shamyl Hussain and Shahzaib Khan added 37 runs for the first wicket, but then the collapse started. Rohanat Doullah Borson and Sheikh Paevez Jibon both took four wickets for 24 runs. Arafat Minhas (34) and Ali Asfand added 43 runs for the seventh wicket to give some respect to the score.Bangladesh had to chase the target in 38.1 overs to beat Pakistan on NRR but their batsmen played poor shots. Ubaid removed both the openers with the new ball and then took three more wickets, including Mohammad Shihab James, who he had dropped on 24 at fine leg. Ali Raza also took three wickets as Bangladesh were all out for 150 in 35.5 overs.
