Cryptocurrency tax revenue in Indonesia for the year 2023 has decreased by 63%, amounting to only $31.7 million (IDR 4,672.7 billion). This decline is more significant compared to 2022, which marked a partial collection period for Indonesia's introduction of cryptocurrency taxation. In Indonesia, cryptocurrency transactions are subject to dual taxation: a 0.1% income tax and a 0.11% value-added tax (VAT). Additionally, local cryptocurrency exchanges are required to pay approximately 0.04% in taxes to the national cryptocurrency exchange. |
