Afghanistan selection committee announced team for series against Srilanka

Afghanistan have chosen two new players, Naveed Zadran and Mohammad Ishaq, for their first Test match against Sri Lanka. They are a fast bowler and a wicketkeeper-batter. Two other players, Noor Ali Zadran and Zia-ur-Rehman, who have not played before, are also in the team of 16 players for the Colombo Test. They are a batter and a spinner.

While Rashid will not be part of upcomming series between Srilanka and Afghanistan as he is suffering from injury and  all-rounder Qais Ahmad will be his replacement

Squad: Hashmatullah Shahidi (C), Rahmat Shah (VC), Ikram Alikhail (WK), Mohammad Ishaq (WK), Ibrahim Zadran, Noor Ali Zadran, Abdul Malik, Baheer Shah, Nasir Jamal, Qais Ahmad, Zahir Khan, Zia Ur Rehman Akbar, Yamin Ahmadzai, Nijat Masoud, Mohammad Saleem Safi and Naveed Zadran.
