Chain gaming platform GAMEE Token's official statement indicates that a few hours ago, the GMEE token contract on Polygon was subjected to unauthorized access, resulting in a fund theft. The Gamee team has secured all unauthorized access to the token contract. The vulnerability only affects the proprietary team token reserves, and no assets owned by the community were exploited. According to preliminary investigations, on January 22 at 6:31 pm (UTC), the Polygon GMEE deployer address may have been leaked through unauthorized GitLab access, leading to the theft of 600 million GMEE tokens, which were subsequently converted to ETH and MATIC without authorization. In the following hours, the exploiters used various DEX platforms to exchange the leaked tokens, affecting the GMEE token prices on various exchanges. After discovering the vulnerability, ownership was transferred to a new secure address, ensuring the ownership of the token contract and contracts related to the compromised deployer address. |
