Michael Saylor believes that the ability of Ethereum to withstand the test of time is currently lacking a basis for judgment, leading to concerns about the technical reliability and security of Ethereum.
He explains that evaluating the "technical reliability" of Ethereum means that people must see the actual functionality of the protocol in 5 to 10 years. However, Michael Saylor believes that this cannot be verified because Ethereum is still undergoing constant hard forks and protocol changes. In his view, every time Ethereum undergoes a major upgrade, it introduces new attack vectors, posing a certain level of risk to investors.
In addition, Michael Saylor also expresses skepticism about the "ethical soundness" of Ethereum. He says:
The so-called "ethical" means I need to know "no one can change Ethereum," including Vitalik Buterin. I need to know that no one in the Ethereum Foundation can change the protocol; otherwise, Ethereum is a security. In that case, Ether cannot become a global currency.
Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin stated last week that Ethereum's development process is essentially 40% complete and has outlined a roadmap for the next 3 to 4 years. However, Michael Saylor believes that this means "Ethereum does not seem to complete development or stabilize within the next 36 months." He continues:
As an investor, I want to know when it will complete development, I want to see technical progress... I think I won't invest in Ether until the development team stops making changes to the Ethereum protocol. |
