India and Afghanistan will square off in the first Twenty20 International on Thursday at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali. Beginning on January 11, 2024, the neighbors will play a three-match Twenty20 International series against one another. India enters the series having just returned from a triumphant tour of South Africa. India won the ODI series 2-1 but tied the T20I and Test series. Conversely, Afghanistan's tour of the United Arab Emirates proved to be a success. In a three-match Twenty20 International series, the Afghans defeated the hosts 2-1.
