According to court documents, from August 1 to October 31, bankruptcy lawyers and advisors for the cryptocurrency exchange FTX collectively charged fees amounting to $118.1 million. Within 92 days, this equates to approximately $1.3 million per day or $53,300 per hour.
The largest bill came from the consulting firm Alvarez and Marshall, with a three-month service fee of $35.8 million. Ranking second was the global law firm Sullivan and Cromwell, billing $31.8 million. Sullivan and Cromwell's average hourly rate was $1,230. Global consulting firm AlixPartners charged $13.3 million for legal and investigative services during this period. Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan billed $10.4 million during the same period, while the combined fees of several smaller consulting firms exceeded $26.8 million.
Meanwhile, an anonymous FTX creditor shared data in a post on December 17th, indicating that since the FTX bankruptcy case began, FTX has fully paid legal fees totaling approximately $350 million. |
