Michael Jordan's warm-up jersey worn during the opening game of the 1998 NBA Finals has been sold for a record-breaking $10.09 million, setting a new benchmark for sports memorabilia auctions.
Previously, the record was held by Diego Maradona's jersey worn during the "Hand of God" goal in the 1986 World Cup, which was auctioned for $9.28 million.
Back in 2021, another of Jordan's NBA Finals jerseys fetched $2.7 million at auction. The previous record for an NBA jersey was Kobe Bryant's rookie season jersey, which was sold for $3.69 million. |
