If the tables were turned, with India facing a World Cup final against an opposing team with 100,000 fans in conditions favoring the opponent, no one would believe in India's chances of winning.

In the current cricket scenario, the Indian cricket team seems somewhat impervious to facing challenges. This is precisely why they often falter in crucial matches.

The issue is entirely psychological. Despite achieving various record-breaking feats, Indian cricket must confront the mental aspects of the team before aspiring to the level of dominance seen in Australian cricket.

Indian cricket faces a systemic issue beyond this World Cup, with a focus on complete domination. The home pitches are favorable, games draw partisan crowds, and media excessively praises players. This dominance sidelines other countries, unlike the challenging scenarios faced in the 90s and 00s. Matches in Sharjah or against hostile crowds are rare. The current cricket structure prioritizes Indian fans, drowning out global supporters. Indian cricket's avoidance of adversity contradicts the essence of sports, where overcoming challenges often leads to the best moments.

You're right. However, overall, judging from Hotstar's performance, Indian media is concerned they may be overly emphasizing individual records. Elevating these players to godly status and engaging in hero worship does them no favors on the big stage.

I got downvoted on the main Post Match thread for saying this 'World' Cup was designed by BCCI for India's win. Despite breaking records with home advantage, India couldn't win two knockout games. Knockout matches add excitement to the FIFA World Cup, where a weaker team can win on a good day. Cricket's heavy reliance on Indian viewership turned the World Cup into an India-centric event, with ICC, BCCI, and the media excessively praising Team India. The absence of the term 'Quarter Final' disappoints global cricket fans wanting to see emerging teams.

I agree with this perspective. If India were in a World Cup final with conditions favoring the opponent and a massive opposing crowd, people wouldn't expect India to win. The current scenario suggests that the Indian cricket team struggles to cope with challenges, leading to failures in crucial matches
