During a team meeting following the Asia Cup earlier this year, Indian captain Rohit Sharma himself suggested that he forgo self-preservation in favour of a high-risk, high-reward strategy at the top of the order for the World Cup. According to reports, Rohit attempted to stop bowling attacks during the T20 World Cup in Australia last year, but his plan was unsuccessful. Rohit thought it was worth taking a chance during the 50-over World Cup at home on pitches that were better suited for hitting on the up.
