According to Vietnamese media reports on February 7, Nguyen Van, 52, led an ordinary life until he won the 1.1 billion dong lottery prize. After winning, he donated a portion of the money to charity, spent 2.7 billion dong on buying a house, and gave 1.5 billion dong as pocket money to his current girlfriend. With an ex-girlfriend and a child in the picture, the ex-girlfriend, upon learning about his win, forced Nguyen Van to give her 800 million dong in cash. Not only that, she demanded that he transfer the newly purchased property to her name and write a promissory note. Nguyen Van said, "She did this to prevent me from giving the house to my current girlfriend." Later, the ex-girlfriend started threatening him, forbidding him from having another child and pressuring him to break up with his current girlfriend.

When Nguyen Van refused, his ex-girlfriend wrote a letter to his company, leading him to resign and leave the industry. The ex-girlfriend also took the matter to court, claiming that she lent money to Nguyen Van to buy the house. In the end, the court ruled in favor of Nguyen Van's ex-girlfriend, stating that the property belonged to her. Nguyen Van expressed to the media, "I once had everything—a job, a house, wealth, and now I've lost it all." What seems peculiar is that the man obediently followed his ex-girlfriend's demands, despite the breakup. Even though they have a child together, how can someone else handle their property after the separation? There might be complex reasons behind this situation. What's truly perplexing is the man's decision to write a promissory note for his ex-girlfriend. It's all quite bewildering.
