Facebook's parent company, Meta, brings exciting news about the metaverse! Meta (formerly Facebook) is currently building the metaverse! Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook, mentioned that Meta is advancing AI (Artificial Intelligence) research to create virtual worlds using voice generation. Meta also aims to enhance interactions between people and voice assistants and improve translation between different languages. This means you can chat with people around the world using your own local language.
Zuckerberg firmly believes that the metaverse is the future of the mobile internet. To fully unleash these advantages, the key lies in artificial intelligence. He stated this during the Meta Online Inside the Lab conference. According to Zuckerberg, Meta is developing a new generative AI model where users describe the appearance of the virtual world, and AI generates it based on the description. Zuckerberg then showcased a concept called Builder Bot, an AI that can create a virtual world as users describe it. He demonstrated this by appearing on an island as a 3D virtual character without legs. He gave a command for the AI to create a beach and then add clouds, trees, and a picnic blanket.
Zuckerberg said, "With technological advancements, users can create a nuanced world to explore with others, sharing their experiences, all achievable with just their voice." Moreover, Meta is working on new AI technology that allows users to interact with voice assistants in a more natural way. In the future, this technology may be applied to the metaverse, enabling users to communicate with AI in that space. Zuckerberg emphasized that Project CAIRaoke is an end-to-end neural model based on device-embedded assistants. During the demonstration, Project CAIRaoke taught users how to cook and provided reminders when they made mistakes. Meta has already integrated this model into Portal devices and plans to incorporate it into AR/VR devices in the future.
But that's not all! Meta is also developing universal language translation, aiming to provide instant translation between all languages. Communication between people is a primary requirement, and solving this problem would be a game-changer!
