"Standard Chartered Bank's investment arm, SC Ventures, and Japan's financial group SBI Holdings have jointly launched a $100 million cryptocurrency fund. The fund will focus on venture investments globally in areas such as DeFi, payments, tokenization, and crypto infrastructure. The collaboration plans to operate as a joint venture and cover funding rounds from seed to Series C. Alex Manson, CEO of SC Ventures, stated in a release that the joint venture would leverage SC Ventures' experience in the digital asset space, citing investments in companies like Zodia Custody and Zodia Markets under Standard Chartered. The collaboration reflects their shared interest in FinTech, including previous investments in startups like Solv, Zodia Custody, and myZoi. SBI Holdings has also launched a ¥100 billion fund in Japan, with participation from traditional financial giants like Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation." |
