I used to have a group of very good friends, and we would occasionally gather together. However, things changed after some incidents.
In this group of friends, there is a brother's girlfriend who always likes to sow discord, unable to see others doing well. Sometimes, when I win money from gambling, I would buy things for my wife. She noticed this and would bring it up during our gatherings, making sarcastic comments. My wife would respond by saying, "What's wrong with my husband being good to me?" and then she would be left speechless.
Once, I invited my brother to have a meal, but he didn't show up even after waiting for a long time. I thought he might have been busy and forgotten, so I invited him several more times, only to be stood up again. Later, I found out that it was his girlfriend who didn't allow him to come because she didn't like us. If he dared to go out with us, they would break up. Unable to refuse us directly, he chose to stand us up.
In my opinion, if you've made plans with someone and know you can't make it, you should inform them in advance instead of letting them wait foolishly. |
