"According to industry insiders, during the two-day South Korea Blockchain Promotion Week starting on the 15th, blockchain companies operating booths are prohibited from mentioning anything related to ""virtual assets."" The qualification requirements in the recruitment announcement for companies participating in the event state that companies dealing with virtual assets are not allowed to participate. An anonymous industry insider mentioned that although the government has been cautious about virtual assets, explicitly instructing companies not to include content related to virtual assets in their participation seems to be a first. Another industry insider stated that the government's activities would have been a good opportunity, but they cannot participate as their company deals with virtual assets.
The Blockchain Promotion Week is organized by the South Korean Ministry of Science and ICT, with the Korea Internet and Security Agency (KISA) and the Korea Institute for Information and Communications Technology Promotion (IITP) as organizers. The event, which began in 2018, aims to enhance awareness of blockchain and activate the blockchain industry ecosystem." |
