When it comes to selecting the Dream Team of the NBA in the past decade, the ""Splash Brothers"" duo of Durant and Curry, part of the ""Universe Warriors,"" would definitely be among the candidates. Although Durant's departure from the Warriors after winning two championships was accompanied by a lot of unpleasantness, recently Curry discussed the situation during an interview and expressed that he never held any grudges against Durant. He mentioned that Durant didn't owe him or the Warriors anything.

The story between Durant, Curry, and the Warriors is well-known to many. Before Durant joined the Warriors, Curry had already won an NBA championship with them in 2015. Later in 2016, due to various factors, the Warriors lost in the NBA Finals, and with the determination to build a dynasty, they brought in Durant in 2017 and won championships in 2017 and 2018.

Before Durant joined, the Warriors already had significant dominance in the NBA league, and with Durant's addition, they achieved even greater dominance and secured championships in those two years. However, every dynasty eventually faces downfall. The internal dispute about whether Durant or Curry was the leader within the Warriors caused tensions, and Draymond Green's famous outburst at Durant, ""We were champions before you came, and we'll be champions after you leave,"" contributed to Durant's departure and marked the end of the Warriors dynasty.

Recently, Curry talked about Durant's departure. Despite the less amicable circumstances of Durant's departure, Curry has come to terms with it. He mentioned, ""I know for a fact, as a man, as a basketball player, he doesn't owe me or anybody on this team anything for us to kind of make it work. It's on his own terms."" Curry's response reflects a great deal of respect. While Durant is undoubtedly a great player, Curry is considered the core of the Warriors, and Durant's departure was a decision that aligns with his desire for an unchallenged path to achieving an NBA championship as the leading star. Given this perspective, Durant's choice to leave the Warriors is understandable.

The Warriors' and Durant's complex relationship won't disappear with a single interview, but years from now, fans discussing Durant and Curry will remember the glorious era when they joined forces to dominate the NBA.

Let the past be in the past. Perhaps in the future, they might even become good friends, who knows?

Curry ensured the team's baseline performance, while Durant elevated the team's potential. There's nothing wrong with that. After all, the two of them teamed up to create brilliance.

I think Curry has a really broad perspective, and his approach to the game and his teammates is also very serious and reliable.

Durant definitely doesn't owe the Warriors or Curry anything. Without Durant, the Warriors wouldn't have been able to win the NBA championships in 2017 and 2018.
