In the recent concluded Saudi Crown match, Riyadh secured a victory, defeating Dammam Cooperation 1-0 with a winning goal from Mane, advancing to the quarter-finals. Shortly after the start of the match, C. Ronaldo received a yellow card for protesting against the referee.
In the first half, during injury time, C. Ronaldo once again angered the referee. Talisca scored a goal but it was ruled offside. Television cameras showed C. Ronaldo pointing at the referee and making a substitution gesture, seemingly indicating he wanted the referee replaced. After Talisca's disallowed goal, VAR intervened to review the goal and ruled that C. Ronaldo was in an offside position interfering with the opponent. Shortly thereafter, the 38-year-old C. Ronaldo pointed towards the referee and signaled a substitution to the bench.
Early in the second half, Talisca received a yellow card for a foul, but after reviewing VAR, the head referee reversed the decision and showed him a red card, leaving Riyadh with one player fewer. Both sides' players were quite emotional in this match, and in the dying moments of regular time, there was a clash between the two sides, leading to a red card for Dammam Cooperation's Hazazi due to a retaliatory foul.
In the end, Riyadh secured victory in extra time with a goal from Mane, defeating Dammam Cooperation 1-0. It's worth mentioning that during this match, Dammam Cooperation's fans in the stands were chanting Messi's name, and C. Ronaldo made a gesture for them to be quiet and used his palm to indicate silence. |
