The Lakers have played two games since the NBA season began, and one of their key summer acquisitions, former Miami Heat player Vincent, has not met the expectations of fans in these two games. In the first game against the defending champions, the Denver Nuggets, he made 3 out of 8 shots, scoring 6 points, and went 0 for 4 from three-point range. In the second game against the Phoenix Suns, he went 3 for 10 and scored 7 points, with 0 for 5 from three-point range.

He hasn't made a single three-point shot in these two games, and his shooting percentage is less than 40%. This is quite different from Vincent's performance in the Miami Heat team during last year's playoffs.

What's going on here?

From watching the two games, my impression is that Vincent's rhythm and style on the court are completely different from the Vincent we saw in the Miami Heat. In the Miami Heat, Vincent played more as an attacker, the "Little Engine" initiating the attack. However, the current Vincent, with teammates like LeBron, Russell, Rivers, and even Davis, has seen his role on the court shift more towards being a spot-up shooter, a catch-and-shoot player (we know Vincent is not very tall in terms of height). This difference in roles has caused a deviation in Vincent's on-court positioning.

From another perspective, Vincent, as a 2018 second-round pick, has steadily improved and earned a good contract. We must be clear that Vincent is not the deciding factor in whether the Lakers win or lose. Hopefully, he can find the right role and on-court positioning to utilize his abilities and contribute to the team.

Give Ham time to adjust; he'll get the hang of it.

If Curry were on the Lakers, he'd have to pay.

I believe Vincent will find his groove, no need to rush.

What can you really tell from just two games? The new lineup needs time to gel.
