Gucci~ Gucci! Prada~ Prada! How can NFTs have Gucci and not Prada? Italy's luxury fashion designer Prada has introduced its first NFT after previously collaborating with the Adidas brand to launch NFTs inspired by Beeple.
The NFT will be part of Prada's ongoing Timecapsule project. The project was initially launched in December 2019, with limited edition physical products released on Prada's e-commerce website on the first Thursday of each month. On Thursdays, the shirts placed on Prada's website will come with a free NFT, supported on the Ethereum blockchain. In total, there will be 100 shirts and NFTs. Wow, this sounds really high-end!
Artist Cassius Hirst, who is the son of NFT artist Damien Hirst, designed a gender-neutral shirt for Prada with black or white buttons. The corresponding NFT will indicate the airdrop serial number and item number associated with each physical shirt. NFTs will provide unique benefits and experiences to owners, all of which will be revealed on Prada's new servers. Aura, a blockchain consortium consisting of non-profit organizations LVMH, Prada, and Cartier, is behind the scenes of Prada's latest NFT delivery. Aura uses Quorum, an enterprise blockchain service based on Ethereum.
That's Prada covered, but how can we forget Gucci? However, Gucci was the first luxury brand to introduce NFTs. They even created a city in the virtual world of Roblox, offering players games and virtual handbags in exchange for Robux, the virtual currency on Roblox, which can be purchased with a credit card. Prada seems to be catching up fast! By the way, does anyone on the forum not know what NFTs are? |
