"Belgian football star Eden Hazard, aged 32, announced his retirement on October 10 via social media, concluding his 16-year playing career. Hazard made his debut at Lille, where he spent 5 years, playing 194 matches, contributing 50 goals and 53 assists, and winning the Ligue 1 and French Cup titles.
In the summer of 2012, he transferred to Chelsea in the English Premier League. For the Blues, he made 352 appearances, contributed 110 goals and 92 assists, and won 2 Premier League titles, 2 UEFA Europa League titles, 1 FA Cup, and 1 League Cup.
In the summer of 2019, Real Madrid signed him for €115 million. After four years at the Bernabéu, he played 76 times for Los Blancos, providing 7 goals and 12 assists and securing 2 La Liga titles, 1 UEFA Champions League title, 1 FIFA Club World Cup title, 1 UEFA Super Cup title, 1 Copa del Rey, and 2 Supercopa de España titles.
On the international stage, Hazard represented the Belgian national team in 126 matches, contributing 33 goals and 36 assists. He achieved third place in the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. In the summer of 2023, Real Madrid officially announced the early termination of his contract. Since then, Hazard remained a free agent until he independently declared his retirement via social media.
