If you want to learn 3-card poker, then watching this video is essential. Our casino experts will explain the best strategies for this game in several real game sessions. While the term best strategies might sound complex to some, it's actually quite straightforward for 3-card poker. 3-card poker is one of the most popular table games, playable in many casinos worldwide, and numerous online casinos also offer it. Learning 3-card poker is straightforward, but players can improve their winning chances by understanding the casino's odds and how to use the best strategies. Unlike blackjack, where you bet once per round and occasionally double down or split additional wagers, 3-card poker involves betting three times almost every round. This significantly increases the overall casino advantage, just like placing three bets per round on a blackjack table.

1. Minimum Bet Only
You can choose to bet only the minimum amount when playing 3-card poker. After the deal, if you think your hand is better than the dealer's, you must place an equal wager in the play or raise circle to continue playing. Keep in mind that both you and the dealer have only three cards. When the player wins, the initial bet pays even money (1 to 1). The overall casino advantage depends on the payout rate for the player's initial bet bonus for a straight, three-of-a-kind, or straight flush.

2. Strategy
Just like other casino table games, various betting systems are designed to take advantage of winning streaks. However, when to place a bet in the play (sometimes labeled as raise) circle after the initial bet is straightforward. The dealer's hand must be higher than a Queen to qualify. Remember this: when the player's hand is at least Queen-Six-Four, you should always bet in the play circle.

If you bet the maximum every time or blindly bet on every round, you'll find the casino's advantage increases significantly, ranging from about 3.5% to over 7.5%. It's not a good idea because, in reality, when the dealer doesn't qualify, the player always wins (only paying the initial bet, not the raise bet). So, constantly raising the bet isn't a wise choice.

3. Pairs Plus
Pairs Plus is what most players are attracted to in 3-card poker because of the higher potential payouts, reaching up to 40 to 1 (or even higher in some games, although the player's chances of winning are relatively lower). Like most bonus-style bets, the casino's advantage for Pairs Plus is significantly higher than the standard Ante bet. The tables below show the standard payout tables for Pairs Plus.

Many players consider betting on both Ante and Pairs Plus to be the most exciting aspect of 3-card poker. If the player only bets when their hand is at least Queen-Six-Four and uses the standard payout tables (Ante table 1: 3.37, Pairs Plus table 1: 5.57), the combined casino advantage for the player is 8.94%. When dividing this advantage by two bets, it results in a 4.47% casino advantage. Betting blindly or raising every round increases the effective casino advantage to over 6.5% for that player. So, avoid doing that.
