Baccarat Betting and Card Dealing:
The number of participants in baccarat betting is not strictly limited. Apart from 9 players (small table) or 14 players (big table, 7 on each side of the arc) provided by the casino, those standing by can also participate in betting freely. However, when the bets of both the banker and the player exceed the table's limit (the limit is indicated on each table), the dealer will count the bets on the banker, player, and tie areas (commonly known as ""counting red"") before dealing the cards. This signals that the bets have exceeded the table's specified amount. Players are then asked to reduce their bets to the specified amount before the game starts. In addition to setting a maximum limit, each table also has a minimum bet requirement.
If players believe that both the banker and player have the same point total, resulting in a tie, they can bet on a ""Tie."" If players believe that either the banker or player (or both simultaneously) will be dealt a pair, such as two 3s or two Queens, they can bet on ""Pair."" However, there are no restrictions on this bet (even though any two cards with a total value of 10, Jack, Queen, King, or any two combinations of them, both count as 0 points).
In addition, the player with the highest bet in the banker or player position has the right to reveal the cards by themselves, designate any seated position with bets, or have the dealer reveal the cards (standing bettors cannot reveal the cards). Some casinos only allow the dealer to reveal the cards (this is indicated on each table).
Baccarat Card Dealing and Drawing:
In baccarat, typically 8 decks of cards are used, and after shuffling, they are placed in a card shoe. Both the banker and the player will receive at least two cards but no more than three cards per hand. The first and third cards are dealt to the ""player,"" while the second and fourth cards are dealt to the ""banker."" Whether a third card is drawn depends on the drawing rules, also known as ""tableau.""
Drawing Rules:
- If either the banker or player is dealt a ""natural"" hand (a total of 8 or 9 points), they don't draw any more cards.
- If either the banker or player has a total of 6 or 7 points, they don't draw any more cards.
- If neither of the above conditions is met, the player draws a third card, depending on their total points.
- Whether the banker draws a third card depends on the banker's total and whether the player drew a third card.
Scoring in Baccarat:
In baccarat, Ace cards are worth 1 point, cards from 2 to 9 are worth their face value, and 10, J, Q, and K are worth 0 points (some casinos count 10 points). If the total value of the cards exceeds 9, only the unit digit is considered. Therefore, the maximum possible score is 9 points, and the minimum is 0 points.
Payouts in Baccarat:
- Betting on the banker and winning pays 1:1, with a 5% commission deducted.
- Betting on the player and winning pays 1:1.
- Betting on a tie (where the point totals are the same) pays 1:8.
- Betting on a pair (where either the banker or player is dealt a pair) pays 1:11.
Please note that in the case of a tie, only bets on banker or player will be returned to the player; bets on other outcomes (e.g., pair) are not returned.
Baccarat Odds:
Baccarat has one of the lowest house edges in casino games, with the banker bet having an edge of around 1%, making it one of the most favorable options for players.
