"Before the game starts, each player must place a base bet based on the table's limits and can also place an optional $1 cumulative side bet. Then, five cards are dealt to each player and the dealer, with one of the dealer's cards being face-up. At this point, players have two choices: fold, forfeiting their base and side bets, or raise, placing an additional bet equal to twice the base bet.

If a player raises, the dealer must reveal their hand. To have a valid hand, the player must have at least an AK combination. If the dealer's hand is invalid, regardless of the player's hand, the player wins an amount equal to their base bet and takes back the raise bet. If the dealer's hand is valid and beats the player's hand, the player loses all their wagered bets. Conversely, if the player's hand beats the dealer's valid hand, the player wins an amount equal to their base bet and a payout corresponding to the raise bet odds.

Cumulative Side Bet:
If a player is dealt a flush or better, regardless of the dealer's hand, they can win an additional payout if they placed the cumulative side bet before. If a player is dealt a royal flush and placed the cumulative side bet, they can win the cumulative jackpot. The longer the cumulative jackpot goes without being won, the larger the amount becomes.

Caribbean Poker is favored by many casino players due to its simplicity. It doesn't involve competing against other players, there's no bluffing or aggressive betting, no drawing cards, and no waiting for other players. At the beginning of the game, you already know your hand. However, the following strategies can help you excel at Caribbean Poker:

1. Caribbean Poker Strategy Tip 1: Play AK
When you have a strong hand to challenge the dealer, the best tactic is to raise, which means raising with a pair and folding with cards lower than AK. Although it may seem regrettable to fold when you have a chance to win against a dealer with no strong hand, in the long run, folding more weaker hands that can't challenge the dealer will improve your odds.

2. Caribbean Poker Strategy Tip 2: Dealing with AK
When you are dealt an AK hand, the real challenge begins. If your hand is lower than AKJ83, folding effectively reduces the casino's edge. If you want to further reduce the casino's edge, you will need to learn more complex strategies. You can research and note these strategies or simply bring printed charts to the casino.

3. Caribbean Poker Strategy Tip 3: Cumulative Jackpot
Typically, the casino's edge in Caribbean Poker is around 25% unless the cumulative jackpot is exceptionally high. For many players, investing $1 for a chance to win the cumulative jackpot is an enjoyable process in itself. Additionally, if you happen to get a royal flush and didn't place a side bet, missing out on a potentially huge jackpot can be a lifetime regret. However, if you want to play as many games as possible with limited funds and lower the casino's edge, it's still recommended to forego the side bet."
