""Debt should be repaid, it's a moral obligation."" Today, I came across a news story that left me astonished. I had never heard of anyone resorting to such tactics. Can you believe someone tried to escape their debts by faking their own death and uploading pictures of themselves in a ""lifeless"" state? It's absolutely absurd! Even if you can't repay, you should at least communicate with your creditor rather than play dead, right? This story involves an Indonesian woman named Liza Dewi Pramita who pretended to have died in a tragic accident to evade her debts. She even uploaded several ""corpse photos"" of herself, and this bizarre incident quickly went viral online. Eventually, her daughter had to step in and issue an apology on her behalf. It all started on August 20th when Liza borrowed 4.2 million Indonesian Rupiah from a woman named Maya Gunawan, whom she had met through a mutual friend. They agreed that the money would be repaid by September 6th, but Liza repeatedly postponed the repayment deadline until the 10th. Unexpectedly, Liza's son, Nava, posted on Facebook on the 11th, claiming that his mother had tragically died while crossing a bridge. He said she was lying in bed with her eyes closed, appearing peacefully at rest. From the photos, it was clear that Liza's nostrils were stuffed with tissue, and her entire body was wrapped in white fabric, resembling a shroud. There were even two other photos with additional white cloth. However, Maya, the creditor, became suspicious and discovered that these ""deathbed photos"" were actually taken from various sources online and could be found with a simple Google search. This prompted her to expose the deceit. As Liza had made her post public, the news of her faking her death to escape debt quickly spread on Facebook, with some people even recreating similar photos in jest. I couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity of it all and wanted to share it with you. However, from an outsider's perspective, it's important to remember that we can't fully comprehend the pain of debt. Maybe she had been pushed to the brink by multiple creditors, and it impacted her mental state. Let's refrain from passing judgment on her personally. Unless you've experienced it yourself, it's hard to understand that feeling. In my opinion, if you borrow money, you should find a way to repay it rather than resort to ""playing dead"" to evade your debts!" |
