Sometimes, gambling truly possesses the power to make people lose their rationality. Among those of us who engage in gambling, we often encounter a particular type of individual. These are the people who, in their pursuit of breaking even, employ all sorts of tactics to secure more funds for continued gambling, with the most common scenario being borrowing money to keep betting. In their minds, the belief is that as long as they have money on hand, they can use it to successfully recoup their losses. However, as we all know, the fate of such individuals often takes a turn for the worse, rather than improving. As an observer, I find myself perplexed each time I witness this behavior. From a rational standpoint, if you are genuinely lucky or skilled, you should not find yourself trapped in a cycle of merely breaking even. Instead, you should be calculating how much you've actually won on any given day.
However, at times, gambling has the ability to cloud people's rational thinking. In my case, since I'm playing a free fishing game, I can exchange points without any consequences. But when I see others, especially those who go to casinos, continuously heading to the cashier's counter to exchange chips, I sometimes wish they could exercise more restraint. Of course, rational advice often falls on deaf ears. Despite being fellow players who should stand on the same side, these well-intentioned suggestions are met with resistance. Consequently, nobody says anything in the end, and we find ourselves in a state of indifferent coexistence. It's a rather unfortunate social phenomenon. |
