The Dubai Chamber of Commerce is seeking to expand the role of the gaming industry in the UAE's economy. Market analysts predict that the value of the GCC gaming industry will increase from $1.3 billion in 2019 to $4.5 billion by 2025. The Dubai Digital Economy Chamber has convened industry experts to identify future growth opportunities.
According to Statista, currently in the UAE, 9 out of 10 adults are engaged in playing video games. With the widespread adoption of 5G, the gaming industry is continuously expanding. Ahmed, Vice President of the Dubai Digital Economy Chamber, stated, 'Dubai's opportunities in the esports industry are incredible due to its affluent, young, and gaming-savvy population. We need a comprehensive understanding of the gaming industry, close collaboration with partners, to ensure that current policies, initiatives, and strategies promote innovation and foster a business-friendly environment for gaming companies.'" |
