Before the start of the new NBA season in October, the league has revised its rules to curb the trend of ""load management"" and these rules were passed after a vote by the board of directors. In the future, if a team rests two star players in a single game, the league will take punitive measures, with the heaviest fine exceeding one million dollars.

According to a disclosure by the well-known ESPN reporter from the United States, the league's board of directors voted on Wednesday to pass stricter rules on player rest. This is aimed at preventing star players from resting excessively during nationally televised games, mid-season regular-season games, or routine games even if they are healthy.

Sources indicated that this gives the league greater power to monitor the participation of main star players in games, including independent medical reviews. The first violation will result in a fine of $100,000, the second violation will lead to a $250,000 fine, and for subsequent violations, the fine will increase by $1 million each time compared to the previous one.

As for the league's definition of star players, it includes those who have been selected for the All-Star Game three times or have been part of the All-NBA Team.

This means that teams must be more careful in managing their lineups to ensure that no more than one star player is absent in the same game. For instance, the Boston Celtics, who have ""Double Jay"" (Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum), cannot rest both of them in the same game unless they have health issues.

In addition, for special cases such as personal reasons or veteran players, teams must apply to the league in advance to arrange player rest.
