Zaman Khan has become the first slinger fast bowler akin to Lasith Malinga to represent Pakistan in international cricket. While Pakistan has consistently produced exceptional fast bowlers over the years, Zaman's unique style sets him apart. He joined Pakistan's Asia Cup squad when Naseem Shah was sidelined due to a shoulder injury.

The 21-year-old Zaman's journey to professional cricket has been a classic rags-to-riches story. Like many Pakistani pacers, he started honing his skills in tape ball cricket in Mirpur, a small village in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

Born into a family of daily wage laborers, Zaman's early passion for cricket found support within his household. Zaman took a significant step forward when he was chosen to represent Pakistan in the under-19 team on a tour of Australia, an eye-opening experience for the young fast bowler.

His first taste of a major cricketing stage came when he was picked by Lahore Qalandars for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in 2022. It was a transformative experience to share the dressing room with Pakistan's top stars like Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf.

In his debut PSL season, Zaman made a significant impact, claiming 18 wickets in 13 matches and finishing third on the list of top wicket-takers, behind Afridi and leg-spinner Shadab Khan.

Zaman continued to impress in PSL 2023, securing 15 wickets from 13 matches and helping the Qalandars retain their title, making them the first team in PSL history to do so. Ahmed noted Zaman's progress, stating, 'He was a bit raw when he joined us. He has a roundarm action and was certainly quick, but sometimes he would stray down the leg side or wide off the off-stump. We worked on his accuracy in practice, and he is a hardworking and quick learner.'

With his ability to deliver fast full-length deliveries, Zaman was often used as a death overs specialist. His skills shone brightly when he defended 12 runs in the final over of the PSL 2023 final against Multan Sultans on March 18. Six days later, Zaman made his debut for Pakistan in a T20I against Afghanistan in Sharjah. When Pakistan needed a replacement for Naseem Shah, the team director, Mickey Arthur, known for spotting talent, promptly advocated for Zaman's inclusion in the squad.

Zaman made his ODI debut against Sri Lanka, but perhaps the most significant opportunity awaits him – the chance to learn the intricacies of his craft from an accomplished performer like Morne Morkel, Pakistan's bowling coach.

Zaman Khan is one of the finest and unique actions I have seen while from the Pakistan Premier League, he is the leading wicket-taker for their franchise and played a big role at that time for his team and a ball match-winning Yorker by their unique action, his slinger actions like Malinga the legend of Sri Lanka had bowled for their nations, Naseem Shah replacement of Zaman Khan is good for Pakistan for the upcoming world cup if he played by his unique action for the Pakistan team he will definitely played. His bowling coach Morkel also appreciated their bowling action
