Indian team could make certain changes to perform well against bangladesh

With their spot in the Asia Cup 2023 final already secured, the Indian cricket team faced Bangladesh in their last Super 4 stage match, a game devoid of any impact on the tournament's outcome. The two finalists, India and Sri Lanka, have been determined, while Bangladesh has no chance of qualifying for the final. This match provided the Indian team with an ideal opportunity to assess the depth of their squad.

In a similar inconsequential match against Afghanistan during the 2018 Asia Cup, Rohit Sharma opted to rest several players, including himself. That match marked MS Dhoni's final appearance as India's captain. Could a similar decision be in the offing this time as well?

With Shreyas Iyer returning to the Indian team and participating in practice sessions ahead of the Bangladesh clash, he is expected to feature in the playing XI. Players like Tilak Varma and Prasidh Krishna may also be given opportunities to showcase their skills.

In India vs Bangladesh Super 4 match of Asia Cup 2023, capain Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bat first at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Friday. India made five changes in their Playing 11. Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj were not selected for IND vs BAN match. 

Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Shardul Thakur, Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Shami got selected for Bangladesh match.

This match’s result will not affect the final match between India and Sri Lanka but Rohit Sharma didn’t opted himself for rest so it might be his last match as captain.
