"Let me talk about my long-overdue updates. It's been quite some time since I last met up with my buddies. As we've all grown older, everyone has started to focus on their own lives, either on family or work. Few are like me, still living a carefree, solitary life with no particular ambitions. But that's not the point. What matters is that despite the long gap in our meetings, catching up on our lives was enjoyable. At least there wasn't that awkwardness you often feel when you haven't been in touch for a while. Just that made me content.
Adult life is inevitably filled with various responsibilities, and some people lose themselves in it, while others drift apart from one another. I've always been grateful to have a group of friends I can easily connect with at this age. There's nothing more valuable than that.
After our chat, we each went our separate ways. It's not like the old days when we could drink all night and chat endlessly. Some of us now have to deal with nagging from our wives or girlfriends if we return home late. But more importantly, our bodies aren't as resilient as they used to be. Staying up late and drinking now is a severe toll on our health, affecting even our work efficiency the next day. It's a stark reminder that we're getting older.
Every time I meet old friends, it's a reminder of the passing of time, and this time was no exception. I hope time can slow down a bit, and regardless of how much time passes, we can still have moments like these in the future." |
