Messi's first start results in a double and sets a record – how strong is the 36-year-old football legend?
After his debut heroics, the football legend Messi once again delivers a stellar performance.
Miami International faced Atlanta United in the Alliance Cup, and Messi, who came on as a substitute in the previous game, made his first start and captained the team.
Former Barcelona teammate Busquets also started the match, but Atlanta had the upper hand at the beginning of the game due to their stronger lineup.
However, Messi's abilities are simply too formidable. In the 8th minute of the game, Atlanta initiated an attack from the side, and their cross hit the crossbar, causing quite a scare.
Miami quickly launched a counter-attack, with Busquets collecting the ball in the backfield and delivering a long pass to find Messi in a high-speed forward run.
But Messi's performance wasn't over yet; in the 22nd minute, Miami orchestrated an attack, and Messi had already completed a brace in just 25 minutes!
Keep in mind that this is only his second MLS game, and his chemistry with his teammates is not fully developed yet, but his exceptional individual skills are more than enough to conquer the MLS.
What's even more exciting for fans is witnessing the Busquets and Messi connection once again!
I wonder how many people had a nostalgic moment, reminiscing about their time at Barcelona when they saw this. |
