The BCCI is considering doubling the remuneration for domestic players, with Ajit Agarkar's selection committee tasked with proposing implementation strategies. While an immediate announcement is unlikely, discussions have begun within the national selection committee to ensure equitable compensation for non-IPL participating domestic players.

Plans to double fees for domestic cricketers are being considered, aiming for players to earn between INR 75 lakh to INR 1 crore annually for participating in 10 Ranji Trophy games. Currently, players receive varying daily fees based on their Ranji appearances.

The initiative aims to encourage participation in the Ranji Trophy and aligns with the BCCI's goal of promoting red-ball cricket. This includes potential increases in remuneration for players participating in other BCCI events.

Sunil Gavaskar has welcomed the proposal, advocating for doubled or tripled fees for domestic cricketers. He believes this will reduce pullouts from the Ranji Trophy and promote red-ball cricket participation.

I think it's a good decision! Increasing salaries will help them play cricket for a few more years and continue showcasing their talent

This is a good practice. Players can stay domestically for a long time and earn considerable income, helping to build the overall structure and attract regular, experienced talent while providing them with good financial support. This applies to all professions.
