With Man United's internal drama, it's become commonplace after each loss. However, a recent incident sparked concerns. Following a draw against Bournemouth, promising talent Garnacho liked a post criticizing Coach Ten Hag on social media. Could this signify Ten Hag losing control?
Amidst numerous injuries this season, 19-year-old Argentine Garnacho seized opportunities, including 13 consecutive starts for Man United. However, being substituted after just 45 minutes in the Bournemouth game, Ten Hag's explanation worsened matters.
In an interview, Ten Hag stated, "We conceded in areas we shouldn't have. We faced problems defending the right flank in the first half. We corrected it at halftime. In the second half, Maguire performed better, and we addressed the issues on the right. We had more control over the game. If we had been calmer and composed, we could have won." Considering Garnacho's role on the right flank, Ten Hag's comments appeared to blame the 19-year-old.
Many United fans disagreed with Ten Hag's explanation, praising Garnacho's performances this season and his efforts in saving Ten Hag's job multiple times. They felt it was inappropriate for Ten Hag to use a 19-year-old as a scapegoat in interviews. Garnacho seemingly endorsed these sentiments by liking two posts, leading to suspicions of further discord within the United camp.
While similar instances of player dissatisfaction with the coach have occurred this season, Ten Hag remains in charge. Hence, many believe this incident will blow over, and Ten Hag will continue to manage United. |
