It's true that the Europa League may not hold as much value, and if Liverpool had to choose between the Premier League and Europa League, I believe 100% of Liverpool fans would opt for the Premier League title. However, I don't think Liverpool actively surrendered in this game. Klopp is a determined individual, and I doubt he would willingly forfeit any championship. While the Europa League may not hold as much prestige, it's still a European title, and knowing Klopp's character, he would desire any trophy. Additionally, all the key players who should have played did so. Even though Salah didn't start, he came on as a substitute early in the second half. However, Liverpool still conceded two goals in the second half. It seems that in this match, Liverpool genuinely couldn't keep up. Perhaps they were out of form, fatigued, or the players didn't prioritize winning the Europa League. At present, it's highly likely that Liverpool will be eliminated from the competition. However, this could work in their favor for the Premier League title race. Arsenal and Manchester City also have to focus on the Champions League matches, whereas Liverpool can concentrate solely on the Premier League. If they can win their upcoming matches, then the Premier League title is likely theirs. With Liverpool's strength and everyone wanting Klopp to leave on a high note, I believe it's safe to declare Liverpool as this season's Premier League champions after this game. |
