The Bucks recently embarked on a four-game road trip in the Western Conference, losing to the Warriors and Lakers consecutively before facing the Clippers today. The duo of Damian Lillard and "The Greek Freak" Giannis Antetokounmpo combined for 69 points, leading the Bucks to a 124-117 victory over the Clippers, making them the seventh pair since the merger of the NBA and ABA to score at least 30 points and 10 assists each in the same game.
With four key players missing, the Clippers were led solely by James Harden and trailed by only six points after three quarters. However, Lillard took over the game in the final quarter, scoring 16 points alone to secure the Bucks' victory by seven points.
Lillard made a total of seven three-pointers throughout the game, finishing with 35 points, 7 rebounds, and 11 assists, while Antetokounmpo contributed 34 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 assists. For the Clippers, Norman Powell scored 26 points and grabbed 7 rebounds, while Harden had 13 points and 11 assists, and Amir Coffey added 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Reflecting on his chemistry with Antetokounmpo in a post-game interview, Lillard said, "I think it's getting better. A lot of times, people want it to happen right away at the beginning of the season, but when you put two decision-makers together, it takes time to learn how to play together." |
