As we approach this time each year, we generally have a rough idea of the title race in each major league. For example, this season, it seems that the champions of leagues like the Bundesliga, Ligue 1, and Serie A have already been decided. Today, however, we want to talk about Inter Milan, who are currently leading Serie A by 15 points and are highly likely to win the league this season.
This season has seen another reshuffle in Serie A. Last season's champions, Napoli, replaced their successful coach after winning the title. This season, their performance hasn't been as good as the previous one. On the other hand, Inter Milan has shown excellent form this season, especially since the beginning of 2024, securing 12 consecutive victories, including 9 in Serie A. With the second-placed Juventus experiencing inconsistent form, Inter already has a 15-point lead by the 27th round of matches. With only 11 rounds remaining, they have basically secured the Serie A title for this season.
Inter Milan's impressive form this season is evident both in attack and defense. It's worth mentioning that up to this point, Inter has had as many as 17 players scoring goals this season, a statistic that leads all top five leagues. Defensively, they have also conceded the fewest goals among all top five leagues. Therefore, it's fair to say that Inter Milan is one of the strongest teams in Europe.
Furthermore, credit must be given to Inter Milan's coach, Simone Inzaghi. He has fostered a united atmosphere in the Inter Milan dressing room, with players brimming with confidence. This cohesive environment is crucial to their success. Inzaghi's record speaks for itself. In his 300 Serie A matches in charge, he has secured 179 victories, 50 draws, and 71 losses. Surpassing the likes of Ancelotti (172 matches) and Allegri (171 matches), he has become the coach with the most wins in the first 300 Serie A matches in history, once again making history for Inter Milan.
Aside from the Serie A title, Inter Milan undoubtedly aims to win the Champions League. They fell short in last year's final, but this year, they have come back even stronger and are determined to claim the Champions League title they missed out on last year. |
