Let's talk about something lighter today (Hmm? Is this considered a light topic?)

It is said that Paul Pogba has always been a continuous topic of discussion, and recently, the issue of his being punished with a ban after testing positive in a drug test has been widely known among football fans on the forum. However, in fact, if Pogba had admitted guilt and reached a settlement agreement, he would have been banned for 2 years. Nevertheless, the French midfielder rejected this proposal and chose to appeal, resulting in a 4-year ban.

In response, Pogba issued a statement expressing sadness, shock, and heartbreak over the verdict, as everything he had built in his professional career has been taken away. He firmly asserted that he never intentionally used any substances violating doping regulations and pledged to appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. Pogba firmly believes that the truth will come out eventually, emphasizing that he would never resort to using banned substances to improve his performance, and of course, he also added that he has never disrespected players or fans who have had similar experiences.

After Pogba's statement was released, several prominent players expressed their support for him, with French national team coach Didier Deschamps voicing strong support. Deschamps said, "I cannot imagine that Pogba had any intention or desire to use doping. I know him well, and I know that such thoughts would never cross his mind." "Given Pogba's achievements with the national team and the relationship we have built, I am obviously not indifferent to his sadness. However, I believe he is innocent."

According to Italian media reports, even if Pogba's appeal is successful, the whole process is expected to take 6 to 7 months. Meanwhile, Pogba has actually vacated his villa in Turin, casting a shadow over his uncertain future. Initially, when I read Pogba's statement, I felt that he seemed truthful, perhaps indicating that he was framed for using banned substances. However, later I heard about Pogba's brother exposing his feud with Mbappe and his story with Manchester United... I feel that Pogba's life is full of drama, and his credibility has greatly diminished. Do you guys feel the same way? Or do you have any thoughts on this?

Could Pogba's claim of innocence suggest the drug itself could cause a false positive? Hoping Pogba can bounce back.

Typically, those steadfastly refusing to admit guilt are often believed to be wrongly accused. Perhaps he truly is innocent, but unfortunately, lacks support from above. It's a tragic situation.

Pogba is a very talented player. But four years for him would be devastating. After all, at his age, it's his prime time to shine. If he's banned, his future prospects will be severely hindered. Four years would destroy too much for him.No wonder he's so persistent.

As a prominent professional athlete, Pogba has achieved considerable success on the field. Now at the age of 31, although he may not be as sharp as his peak, he could still perform decently in Serie A. Therefore, I find it unlikely that Pogba would voluntarily use performance-enhancing drugs. There's a high probability that he's been framed, or perhaps he unknowingly consumed substances found in medications he regularly takes, without his or his team's awareness. Pogba's decision to refuse admission of guilt and forgo a settlement agreement is understandable. At 31, a two-year ban or a four-year ban would be almost equally devastating. Taking a two-year hiatus from the sport at this age would likely mean he couldn't return to play in top-tier leagues upon his comeback. It's reasonable for him to choose to appeal the decision. If successful, it would be ideal; if not, retirement might be the best option. As a key player of the French national team that won the World Cup and having earned significant wealth over the years, club honors may matter less to him. Therefore, Pogba's options seem to be either to continue fighting or to retire and enjoy life. Perhaps he genuinely doesn't care much at this point.

Paul Pogba is truly gifted. During his time at Juventus, he was like a solid wall. As a key midfielder for the French national team in the 2018 World Cup, he played a crucial role in their victory, lifting the World Cup trophy. His contributions cannot be overlooked. However, like Mario Balotelli, he seems to be wasting his talent. This isn't entirely his fault though. With limited formal education since childhood, he may not have learned to appreciate many things and has engaged in reckless behavior. Players like Cristiano Ronaldo, who truly maximize their potential, are indeed rare.

Looks like Pogba is determined to resist to the end.
