BCCI announces incentives to boost Test cricket, including rewards for non-playing members. Move aims to protect Test cricket's importance. Kevin Pietersen praises the decision. Players in XI for over 50% of Tests get Rs 30 lakh, non-players get Rs 15 lakh. Those in 75% of Tests get Rs 45 lakh. Rahul Dravid views it as recognition, not just about money. He emphasizes the toughness and rewards of Test cricket. Personally, I hope this recognition encourages more players to prioritize Test cricket. How do you guys see it?

Why has Jay Shah become the BCCI chief? It appears that Indian cricket has been influenced by the BJP.....

Impressive initiative! Earning around INR 4 crore for 9 matches might not match IPL earnings, but it's a substantial incentive for many young players to prioritize Test cricket. It'd be great to see similar incentives at the Ranji level. Hopefully, more cricket boards can afford such measures.

The bonus is 2-3 times the actual salary, which is insane

But how will this affect players who rest or are injured during the series? Despite the incentives, they may be unwilling to participate in matches due to injury or management decisions. Won't they feel unfairly treated???

As a fan, I'm glad to see him promoting Test cricket. Despite the unwarranted hatred towards the BCCI, their contributions to Test cricket are surely more significant than anyone else's

Isn't it still the same now? If I didn't select you in the lineup, you wouldn't receive the 15L match fee. Would you still feel shortchanged?
