In an official interview with the Celtic Football Club, 36-year-old former English goalkeeper Joe Hart confirmed that he will officially announce his retirement after the end of this season.

Joe Hart stated:

"I am in good physical condition, feeling very good physiologically, and committed to maintaining my optimal state. I started my professional career at the age of 15, and almost every day I have been involved in professional football activities, experiencing different levels of energy. From the age of 20, I became a starting goalkeeper in the top league, and 30 was my peak, but now, from 31 to 34, I am somewhat uncertain about my position. Physiologically, I believe I am still in excellent condition, but I realize that time waits for no one, and I don't want to wait for the day I am phased out."

"On a mental level, I have carefully considered this issue, involving many key factors. However, now is the time to make the right decision, and I have made the decision. The most challenging part is how to explain my decision. Although I decided to retire in June, I will still actively participate in matches and fulfill my commitments."

Celtic's coach, Rodgers, made the following statement:

"Joe has always had an extraordinary career, and I am well aware that when he finally retires in the summer, I will miss his games greatly."

"Joe's achievements in the football field are commendable. He has performed outstandingly not only for Celtic but also for other teams he has played for."

"But more importantly, he is a great person, and I am honored to work with him. I know that throughout his career, he has been a great partner in the eyes of many, demonstrating professional ethics in the football world every day."

"Although he is about to leave the field, I believe he will continue to stay in the football world in some way. Football will always be a part of his life, and I believe that everyone at the club hopes he will succeed in whatever he does after the summer."

"I fully understand and respect Joe's motivation for making this statement, and he has clearly outlined his future to the club and our fans."

"I also understand that he will go through the entire season with the same intensity, commitment, and motivation that he has always been famous for."

Joe Hart, 36 years old, is a product of Shrewsbury's youth training. He joined Manchester City in 2006 and was loaned to other teams multiple times during his career, including Torino and West Ham. After leaving Manchester City, Hart played for Premier League teams Burnley and Tottenham. Since 2021, he has joined the Scottish team Celtic and has been playing for them until now.

During his time at Manchester City, Joe Hart served as the first-choice goalkeeper for eight seasons, participating in 348 matches, including 137 matches with clean sheets. He won two Premier League titles with the team and personally received the Premier League Golden Glove award four times. While playing for Celtic, Hart has made a total of 138 appearances, including 59 matches with clean sheets. In the current season, Hart remains the first-choice goalkeeper for Celtic, participating in 34 matches across various competitions. Currently, Celtic ranks second in the Scottish Premiership, trailing Rangers by only 2 points.

As a former goalkeeper for the England national football team, Joe Hart made his debut in July 2008. Throughout his career, he made 75 appearances for England, becoming the team's main goalkeeper and participating in two European Championships and one World Cup.

If you've earned enough money, you can retire.
