According to Cricbuzz, the BCCI has made it compulsory for players to play domestic cricket as some of them have been idle and waiting for the IPL 2024 to begin. The BCCI has instructed the players to join their state teams for the Ranji Trophy to ensure discipline among them. However, this does not apply to the players who are on the national team or who are undergoing rehab at the NCA in Bengaluru. Players who are not playing for any reason must report to their state teams right away to take part in the next round of Ranji Trophy matches, which start on February 16. The competition for a place in the India team is very high and the selectors want to select the players based on their current form rather than their records. That is why every player who has been out of action must go out and play professional cricket.
