When it comes to Chelsea's performance over the past two seasons, fans' first impression is often characterized by lavish spending yielding poor results. Despite changing numerous coaches and acquiring many star players, there has been little improvement. It's unclear whether the issue lies with the coaches, players, or the owner. Due to the team's poor performance, some of the high-priced players acquired are now requesting to leave.
Since taking over Chelsea, current owner Boehly has implemented extensive reforms, selling off most of the old players and making significant investments in new ones. However, these investments haven't translated into more trophies for Chelsea. On the contrary, the team's performance has worsened, with a 10th-place finish last season and currently sitting at 11th place this season, with fewer points than the previous season.
The chain reaction caused by the poor team performance is evident. The Argentine midfielder, Enzo, who was signed for £120 million, is considering a transfer, while other players like the £100 million winger, Mudryk, are seeking loan moves. However, Chelsea has rejected their requests as both players are under 9-year contracts. Chelsea is reluctant to let their investments go to waste, and they hold the upper hand in negotiations, making it difficult for Enzo and Mudryk to transfer.
Additionally, Chelsea fans deeply miss former owner Abramovich and express their nostalgia for him at home matches. It's uncertain how Boehly feels about this situation. Despite investing heavily, Boehly's poor management and scouting decisions have contributed to the current predicament. It's unclear when this dire situation will end, but Chelsea fans may have to endure it for a while longer. |
