Rishabh Pant had a car crash that could have killed him. He was hurt, stuck in bed and needed help. He told why the doctors said he was “lucky”. “The doctors were amazed that I had no fractures. The knee injury was serious but not the worst. They say I’m lucky. I don’t feel lucky but I’m alive,” Pant told Star Sports. He thought he was dying and “gave up” for the first time. "Thankfully, I knew the wounds and I was lucky. I didn’t know what saved me. My right leg was twisted. I asked for help and they fixed my leg. If my nerve was damaged, they would have cut my leg. That scared me a lot. “I gave up. I felt my time was up. I never felt this before.” His mother’s support helped him heal faster. "I drove home late. I surprised my mom. She was used to it. She was sad but didn’t blame me. She was nice. Family knows us best. Accidents can happen anytime. “I’m happy I was driving. I admit my mistake.” He worked hard on his rehab and made progress. He posted a picture on social media when he could walk with crutches. "My first step was on our terrace. Many people sent love and prayers. I was thankful. I told them I was better. I focused on my recovery. I cut off from the world. It helped me recover faster. It was boring, irritating and frustrating, but I did it. Until I play cricket, I don’t plan for the future. I live in the present and do my best.
